Let's do this again!

My biggest take-a-way impression from the volunteer appreciation event was this:

we all want to do this more often!

I think that's a great idea, and I'm asking for your help in organizing another volunteer event. It doesn't need to be anywhere near the scale of this year's appreciation event; I'm really just thinking about an opportunity to get all of you volunteers in the same place at the same time. This is not an event, unfortunately, that can be funded by RFB&D, but I think the primary goal is just to all get together for a fun social event.
And if we have some good food and drinks...even better!

So anyone with an interest in event planning, anyone with the ability to host a low-key get together for 50-100 people, and anyone just interested in making sure this happens more than once a year- come talk to us!

Great party, guys and gals!

I hope everyone enjoyed the volunteer appreciation event as much as I did!

One thing I quickly realized was how much fun it was to see everyone in a social setting, and how rarely we all get to be together in one room. This is definitely something that I would like to have happen at least a few times a year. Although it's not likely we'll be able to put something together on as grand a scale as this year's event, it would be great for everyone to just be able to get together and socialize.

We have such a large and great group of volunteers, and it's easy to forget this when you only see 5 or 6 people at a time. If anyone has any suggestions of what they would like to do- a dinner? lunch? potluck at someone's house?- please let me know!

In the meantime, I'll be posting some pictures from the event shortly. Thanks again to everyone who came!
